Common Birds of Hawaii Pocket Guide

Hawai‘i’s islands are a unique ecosystem unlike any other place on Earth. Over 90% of the birds, snails, insects, arthropods, trees, and plants are not found anywhere else. This bird guide is an introduction to Hawai‘i’s most commonly seen endemic and introduced birds. Included are marine, wetland, forest, open country, and urban birds that have been illustrated by H. Douglas Pratt, with the birds’ common names in both English and Japanese, scientific names, Hawaiian names, sizes, wingspans, habitats and origins. Some of these birds are endangered, vulnerable, or near threatened and have been listed as such.
